Refunds and cancellation

Short version: cancel whenever you like and keep what you paid for until the period ends. If you paid recently and it was not right, ask and we refund it.

Cancelling

  • Cancel any time from your billing settings, or by emailing hello@withseatbelt.com. We do not make you talk to anyone to leave.
  • Cancelling stops the next renewal. Your plan keeps working until the end of the period you already paid for.
  • We do not charge a cancellation fee and there is no minimum term on monthly plans.

Refunds

  • Within 14 days of your first payment, tell us and we refund it in full. You do not have to justify it.
  • Accidental renewals. If a subscription renewed and you meant to cancel, tell us within 14 days of the charge and we refund it. Nobody should pay for a year of something they stopped using.
  • If the service was broken, meaning it did not run when it should have, contact us and we will refund the affected period whether or not the windows above apply.
  • Outside those cases, payments for periods already served are not usually refunded, because the service ran. Ask anyway if your situation is unusual.

What we do not refund

We do not refund on the grounds that a scan came back clear and something was later found. Seatbelt reports what its checks find, and a clear report is evidence that you checked rather than a guarantee that your software is secure. That limit is stated on the terms page and on the reports themselves.

One time services

Reviews booked from the pre launch review page are one time work rather than subscriptions. Cancel before the work starts and you get a full refund. Once the review is underway, we refund any part not yet delivered.

How long it takes

Refunds go back to the original payment method through Stripe. We process them within 5 business days, and your bank usually takes another 5 to 10 to show it.

Before you dispute a charge

Please email us first. A chargeback takes weeks and costs us a fee on top of the amount; a refund takes minutes. If you did not get what you paid for, we would rather just fix it. hello@withseatbelt.com.
